More than 80 years after its beginnings in 1935, Bürstenhaus Redecker remains true to its founder's vision. Gernot Redecker, who started the company, started to go blind at the age of four and was enrolled in the Soest school for the blind, where he was taught the craft of brushmaking. With his entrepreneurial spirit and passion, he built up a small company and passed down his skills to his son. Bürstenhaus Redecker is still a family company and carries on Friedrich's passion, making it one of the last German producers of hand-crafted brushes, while also incorporating new philosophies and techniques. For example, in 1987 the company began to exclusively use all natural ingredients.
