This cattle horn marmalade spoon is well suited to jams and preserves, or as part of a breakfast set for bowls of yogurt and granola. Small and smooth, it works as an everyday serving or condiment spoon wherever a metal one might feel too sharp.
Founded in 1935, the maker is the only company in Denmark still crafting objects from cattle horn. The horn is sourced from Nigeria, where it would otherwise go to waste, and worked through an 18-step process that has barely changed in 200 years. The craftspeople select each horn by hand, then saw, shape, and finally high-gloss polish it into a piece made to be treasured in everyday life.
Care: Not dishwasher safe. Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water promptly after use, and avoid hot water. Do not soak for long periods or leave in direct sunlight, as this may cause damage. Apply a food-safe oil now and then to prevent the horn from drying out.

Because horn is a natural material, the pattern and color vary from piece to piece, ranging from dark to light or a mix of the two. No two are exactly alike.
