A German all-purpose knife with a versatile, timeless design first drawn over 140 years ago and still made the same way. Its rounded tip makes it safe and easy to handle, moving effortlessly from kitchen to table, equally at home slicing bread, cutting cheese and meats, or spreading butter. The kind of knife you reach for so often it never quite makes it back into the drawer.
Forged in Solingen, the historic center of German knifemaking, the stainless steel blade takes a sharp edge and keeps it through years of everyday cutting, without the upkeep that carbon steel demands. What changes from knife to knife is the handle. POM (polyoxymethylene) is a durable, dishwasher-safe synthetic; the rest are natural woods, each with its own grain, tone, and character, no two quite alike.
The first photo shows all nine handles, from top to bottom: Pear, Apricot, Olive, Plum, Juniper, POM, Cherry, Walnut, Ice Beech. The detail photos that follow show, in order: Apricot, Olive, Plum, Juniper, POM (black).
Please note that handle colors may vary slightly from the photos, and because these are natural woods, grain and tone will differ from piece to piece.
