Hinoki Bench

This lightweight bench made of Japanese Hinoki cypress features a shallow seat and clean, slim design reminiscent of Japanese temple gates. Its construction does not involve any metal joining materials, rather it is robustly constructed using tenon joints, a traditional Japanese architectural method. The bottom of the legs is designed to minimize the effects of changes in the wood and also allows the bench to carry up to 660 lbs. The surface is hand-planed, minimizing the wood’s susceptibility to moisture absorption and achieving a smooth finish, glossy look, and refreshing scent.

Care instructions:
Wipe any dust or light dirt off with a cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung of excess moisture. Do not expose to direct sunlight for long periods of time and dry well in the shade if exposed to water; this way, you can prevent spots, dirt, and distortion while maintaining the beauty of the color as it deepens.
