This wooden xylophone is made for picking up and playing, no lessons needed. A child or a beginner can strike the bars and it sounds good right away. The warm, clear tone of the acacia bars makes it a favorite in Waldorf and Montessori settings, music therapy, and early music at home.
It plays a diatonic scale from A1 to E3, with three extra tones (B♭, F#, B♭) that open up more keys to play in.
Auris was founded in 1978 by a carpenter and musician in Järna, Sweden. The company began with a 41-string lyre commissioned by a music therapist, and the results led to ongoing collaborations with other music professionals, who still work with Auris to deepen its instrument-building craft.
Includes 2 mallets with elasticated heads.
