Jiseungmin Sabal Bowl - Stone Beige

A sabal is a traditional Korean bowl, shallow and wide with an open mouth, the everyday shape rice and soup have been served in for centuries. This one is made by Korean ceramicist Jiseungmin, comfortable to eat from and easy to set out for a single serving.

The glaze draws on the look of aged metal, a soft stone beige with a textured, metallic surface. It belongs to Jiseungmin’s Patina Collection, where the glaze shifts with use. Some foods leave marks over time that settle in as part of the patina.

Because each piece is handmade, the color and surface vary a little from one to the next.
