Super Gold Eraser

The manufacturer behind The Super Gold Eraser opened in Osaka, Japan in 1915. Almost 40 years later they produced the world's first plastic eraser and continue to invent new ways to fix little mistakes to this day. This ingenuity and careful design makes these erasers some of the best in the world.

Item details: The Super Gold Eraser is made of high quality natural rubber and comes in a box and sleeve. These are stamped with a mark called “tsubogarasu”, meaning “Pot and Crow”. This image references one of Aesop’s fables in which a thirsty crow is unable to reach water at the bottom of a pot. The crow drops pebbles one by one into the pot until the water rises to a level near enough for it to drink. This story illustrates that with every thoughtful effort, no matter how small, a rewarding result lies ahead.
