Standing Brass Toilet Paper Holder

This raw brass toilet paper holder stand presents a refined alternative to a wall-mounted holder. The weight of the foot of the stand allows one to comfortably pull the paper without the stand tipping over. Similarly, the brass arm that rests on the roll of paper helps achieve a clean tear.

This piece is made by a small, third generation metal studio in Nagoya, a city in the Aichi prefecture. The studio was founded in 1976 and originally manufactured various auto parts. In 2000, they began to expand the business, using their extensive knowledge and machinery to creatively collaborate with designers and architects and take commissions for interior and commercial fixtures. Each piece is finished by hand, with untreated brass materials that are intended to oxidize over time. They are long lasting and designed for easy maintenance. If any screws come loose, for example, they can be gently tightened with flathead screwdriver.
