SLD Fine Cutting Scissors

These scissors are made in Japan from SLD steel, a semi-stainless high-carbon powdered steel originally developed by Hisachi Metals, Ltd for cutting other metals. Durable and abrasion resistant blades with black metal handles makes this an attractive household item. Each pair comes with a blade oil to assist you in maintaining the scissors.

Located in Ono City, northeast of Kobe, the manufacturer of these traditional Japanese scissors has been producing high quality, handcrafted scissors and shears for over four generations since its founding in the Showa Period. Father and son, Takeo and Daisuke Tajika, forge, shape and sharpen each piece by hand using traditional methods handed down by their forbearers.
