Porcelain Plate - Accented Rim

Rooted in the history of the Imamura pottery family, this line of porcelain ware was fired in a 350 year-old kiln in the Saga prefecture.  The off-white plates and bowls are characterized by the silky smooth matte texture which is achieved by using unique blends of local porcelain stones and glazes. The traces of pigments on the surface or slightly differently colored tones are oxidized iron particles in the porcelain stone—which is something not to be avoided but cherished. These products are made to be tougher, heavier, and harder which also makes it safe for use in a dishwasher.
