A Kyoto-style roasted green tea with flavors reminiscent of kettle corn, chestnuts, and roasted barley. Ideal as an everyday tea for enjoying its warm, toasty notes.
Founded in 1875, Ryuouen has been a trusted source for discerning Kyoto-ites for over a century. Ryuouen has no website and only takes orders in their Kyoto store or by phone. This late harvest Uji bancha is a large leaf, deep roasted houjicha, that is drum roasted until reaching a deep brown, almost black hue. Incredibly fragrant and easy drinking, this is the perfect cup to unwind with and an especially wonderful accompaniment to a meal as well.
