Horn Safety Pin

This pin is made from a single piece of horn and may be used as a charming accessory or brooch attached to a shawl or sweater. The patterns and colors of the horn vary in each item, ranging from dark, light, to a mixture of the two.

Founded in 1935, this is the only company in Denmark still making objects out of cattle horn. The horn is imported from Nigeria, Africa, where they would otherwise go to waste. Through an 18 step process that has barely changed in 200 years, the craftspeople work to make every piece perfectly. They take care in selecting the horn, sawing and shaping and finally high-gloss polishing, to make a beautiful object that can be treasured in everyday life.

Care instructions:
If needed, handwash in cold or lukewarm water and avoid hot water. Leaving the pin to sit in direct sunlight may cause damage. Apply a food-safe oil every so often to prevent dryness.
