A bit smaller than the horn egg spoon, this horn dessert spoon is perfectly suitable for topping off a dish with honey or eating soft foods like puddings and ice cream. The patterns and colors of the horn vary in each item, ranging from dark, light, to a mixture of the two.
Founded in 1935, this is the only company in Denmark still making objects out of cattle horn. The horn is imported from Nigeria, Africa, where they would otherwise go to waste. Through an 18 step process that has barely changed in 200 years, the craftspeople work to make every peice perfectly. They take care in selecting the horn, sawing and shaping and finally high-gloss polishing, to make a beautiful peice that can be treasured in everyday life.
Care instructions:
These horn products are not dishwasher safe. Handwash in cold or lukewarm water promptly after use and avoid hot water. Soaking the spoons in liquid for long periods of time and leaving in direct sunlight may cause damage. Apply a food-safe oil every so often to prevent dryness.
