Klein Tools began in Chicago in 1857 when a telegraph lineman brought a pair of broken side-cutting pliers to Mathias Klein, hoping he could repair them. Though Klein repaired the broken parts, the rest of the original tool soon broke, and so he forged and finished additional replacements, resulting in the first true pair of Klein pliers. As the telegraph industry grew during the civil war, so did Klein Tools, and the company began to produce a wider range of tools. Klein Tools remains a family owned and managed company, and their reputation for quality has made them one of the leading brands in the electrical industry.

Each screwdriver is made in the USA out of the highest quality tempered steel that has been carefully heat-treated for maximum strength, and then chrome-plated for corrosion resistance and a smooth feel. The screwdrivers feature a bolster that reinforces the shank for hard use, and a cushion-grip handle for greater torque and comfort.
