These wine openers are all handmade from a small village in France called Laguiole (pronounced Lah-Yole or La-gwee-ole.)
The traditional logo symbolizes the flies that were attracted by the cows in the area. The other story, which is more popular among the locals, says that it is actually a bee which was Napoleon’s official seal. These specific openers are official sommelier’s knives used at the World Sommelier Competition.
