The manufacturer of this pot was founded in 1923. With the economic boom in the late 70's, Japan was seeing more European cultural influence come in. One of the bigger influences was the cafe culture where coffee replaced Japanese tea. With this as a backdrop, the company came out with a stylish coffee pot that had a narrow spout, perfectly designed for drip coffee. This allows you to pour hot water from a higher point and create a thinner stream of water, important to making a tasty cup of drip coffee. Once the boiled water is placed in the pot, it becomes slightly below boiling point, the perfect temperature to use for coffee.
