TGL invites you to a guided tasting of teas from the most rural and isolated areas in Japan.
This Week's Course
Satsuma 100 - Kagoshima, Japan
The highest grade of Fukamushi cha, Satsuma 100 has a perfect combination of natural sweetness, lasting umami, and an intoxicatingly fresh aroma.
Tsutsuji Sencha - Fukuoka, Japan
Tsutsuji is hand-picked and processed to be shown competitively in Japan. Laser focused and round on the palate with a balanced umami and sugar pea like sweetness.
Asa no Yume Tamaryokucha - Nagasaki, Japan
This Asatsuyu Varietal Tamaryokucha is a curled leaf, steamed green tea with beautiful aromatics, refreshing and focused flavor on the palate, and a lasting buttery sweetness.
Uji no Sato Sencha - Uji, Japan
Uji no Sato is a classic example of the Uji terroir: golden liquor, light silky body, and the unmistakable “Uji Aroma”.
Iribancha - Uji, Japan
An often controversial tea, Iribancha is a late harvest tea that is simply dried and then undergoes an intense deep roast. The resulting leaf is richly fragranced with notes of smoke, pine resin, and pipe tobacco.
Chilled Sobacha and Houjicha will be served as refreshments.
7/27 Saturday at 2:00pm & 3:00pm, 7/28 Sunday at 2:00pm & 3:00pm
(45 minutes, limited to 4ppl per session)
Reservations cannot be cancelled or rescheduled within the 24hours of the scheduled tasting. We recommend arriving 10 minutes prior to the event so that the tasting can start promptly on time. Unfortunately, refunds will not be issued to those who show up late.
